Scout Picks: GW13

A tough Gameweek 13 awaits for many managers as Malmö and Elfsborg are without a fixture this week, having played a double header back in GW7. Rotation could be on the cards for both Hammarby and Häcken who also played midweek, but the selected Scout players should stand a good chance of starting this Gameweek.

Jacob Widell Zetterström 4.7m

The young Djurgården goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterström has gone from strength to strength since replacing the injured Vasyutin. 4 clean sheets and 7 defensive bonus points in 5 games, Zetterström now faces a Häcken side who could be a bit tired after the midweek game against Aberdeen.

Jean Carlos de Brito 4.6m

Jean Carlos de Brito has managed 3 assists, 5 offensive and 12 defensive bonus points in just 10 appearances for Varberg. No doubt strengthened by the solid win at home to Göteborg last week, Varberg now travel to a Degerfors side who have lost their 3 last games with a goal difference of 12 goals to 1.

Björn Paulsen 6.5m

Last week’s Scout recommendation Björn Paulsen found the back of the net for Hammarby and was close to registering a defensive bonus as well. With a clean sheet and 2 defensive bonus points in Gameweek 11, Paulsen now has 16 points in 2 appearances for the club. Admittedly a small sample size, but if his previous tenure at Hammarby is anything to go by, the points have just started rolling in for the bearded Dane.

Aslak Fonn Witry 8.7m

Having broken the 100-points barrier in just 12 Gameweeks, Aslak Fonn Witry is averaging an astonishing 8.58 points per game this season. While the drop off in creativity and assist threat (just 1 so far) is of some concern, as is surrendering most set pieces to Magnus Eriksson, Witry carries a goal threat that is boosted significantly by his role as chief penalty taker for Djurgården. That, alongside the perennial clean sheet gathering, should ensure he stays high up the charts for a long time.

Erick Otieno 6.5m

Despite a somewhat lacklustre performance in Gameweek 12, Erick Otieno sits on 1 clean sheet, 1 assist, 6 offensive and 3 defensive bonus points from his 4 last games. With the main competition from Eric Kahl now a thing of the past, Otieno has the spot nailed down and against Halmstad at home in Gameweek 13, he could prosper once more.

Nabil Bahoui 8.3m

Nabil Bahoui sparked to life away to Örebro, taking 7 shots (4 on target), which resulted in a goal. With injuries having thrown multiple spanners in the works since Bahoui returned to AIK, the question remains if we will ever see the true potential of Bahoui again, the player that scored 32 goals and 19 assists in 76 appearances for the club between 2013-2015. At home to Halmstad, he could be worth a short-term punt if he can sustain the goal threat.

Nahir Besara 8.5m

Nahir Besara had a somewhat quiet debut at home to AIK but was still very much involved in the build up to the goal scored by Örebro, as well as managing 1 defensive bonus points and just barely missing out on another. While the partnership with Jiloan Hamad is yet to be evaluated as he had to pull out from the pre-game warmup, Besara had 12 goals and 4 assists in 29 games last season and looks primed for points with the seemingly favourable fixtures Sirius (away), Mjällby (home), Varberg (away), and Sirius (home) in the coming 4.

Magnus Eriksson 9.5m

Much like Witry, Magnus Eriksson is having an insanely productive fantasy season, averaging 7.41 points per game with a large amount of his total points (40) arriving in the 4 games played since the restart, indicating a superb upturn in form.

Darijan Bojanic 8.9m

Darijan Bojanic continues to be a massive differential, sitting in just over 2% of all squads. 1 goal and 3 assists on the season is far from impressive, but his new role under Milos Milojevic is netting him tons of bonus points – 6 offensive and 2 defensive bonus points in the last 4 games. The underlying statistics looks promising, and his assist tally should start climbing soon enough, taking a majority of Hammarby’s set pieces. Having played just 58 minutes midweek, he should be fit enough to start away to Östersund.

Christian Kouakou 6.1m

Christian Kouakou was more than a bit fortunate to record an assist at home to Degerfors, with the Degerfors defender he crossed to heading it into his own goal. Kouakou continues to defy logic with a shockingly low involvement in the build up play (70 touches of the ball in the last 5 games, on average getting to feel the ball just 14 times a game) still resulting in 17 shots. At home to Örebro who will be missing regular goalkeeper Bobby Allain, Kouakou looks like an interesting pick, despite the low amount of touches.

Samuel Adegbenro 7.7m

Samuel Adegbenro is seemingly back to full fitness and looked lively against Hammarby, registering 7 shots which resulted in 1 goal. Another away game for Norrköping awaits in Gameweek 13, as they travel to Göteborg who looked quite frail defensively away to Varberg.

Captain Pick

Every week in the Scout Picks, a captain is selected from the 11 chosen players. The Captain Pick is meant to give some guidance into who has the biggest potential for points this Gameweek and who looks relatively safe, according to the Scout.

This Gameweek the Captain Pick is Nahir Besara who should find the Sirius defence more exploitable than the solid AIK defence faced with last week.
